Charles A. McRitchie

Mr. Charles McRitchie passed away on September 9 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 27, 1942 in Newport, MI., a son of Vincent & Georgetta McRitchie. On August 28, 1964 he was married to Bonnie Estermyer in Detroit, MI. Both Bonnie and Chuck are longtime Belleville residents.
Mr. McRitchie’s greatest love was his family. He enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his pets, doing carpentry, inventing games, gardening and traveling. Chuck delighted in taking family and friends out to breakfast regularly and never missed a morning of going to Tim Horton’s for a cup of their coffee. He proudly served in the Navy reserve for 2 years. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, delivering in the Plymouth area.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, and 2 sons; Rod and Robert (Christina). Cherished grandfather of Olivia, Bradley and Kyle. Brother of Carolyn (Clifford) Hardy, Muriel (Ed) Borkowski and Margaret (Kenny) Kotarski. Also survived by his longtime friend Melvin Mills and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering for Mr. McRitchie will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Belleville (734) 697-9400. A memorial mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 409 W. Columbia, Belleville with The Rev. Fr. John Hedges officiating.
