Mrs. Veronica Elinor Szabo passed away

Friday, August 6, 2010 at home. 

 She was born September 6, 1911 in

New Berwick, Pennsylvania a daughter

of John and Veronica ( Kish ) Zeleji, Jr. 

 On June 4, 1932 she was married to

Jess Steven Szabo at Holy Cross Church in

Detroit, Michigan moving to Belleville from Detroit. 

 Mrs. Szabo was a long time resident

of Belleville, Michigan. 

Mr. Szabo preceded her in death in February 1962. 

 Mrs. Szabo was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church

 and the Alter Society at the church. 

She was a member of the Wayne County Extension.

  Mrs. Szabo enjoyed crocheting and knitting. 

 She was known as a great cook. 

Pastries and stuffed cabbage being just 2 of her specialties.

 Mrs. Szabo was the loving mother of

Robert ( Lois ) Szabo of Westland,

LuAnna Szabo of Belleville and

 Veronica ( John ) Hoops of Westland.

  Sister of Pete Zeleji of Southgate. 

Fond grandmother of 8 grandchildren

and 11 great grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by her 2 children;

Beverly Vipperman and Jess Szabo, Jr.

and 5 brothers and 2 sisters. 

Visitation will be held on

Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 11A.M. – 1 P.M.

with the funeral service at 1 P.M. at the

Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home,

209 Main St., Belleville. 

 Burial will follow at

Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown Twp., Michigan. 

 The family has suggested memorial contributions to

St. Joseph Mercy Hospice,
