Newton Ammerman

Mr. Newton Ammerman, 85, of Belleville passed away on September 17, 2009 at his home.

He was born on March 22, 1924 in Ypsilanti, MI. A son of Oscar and Alice (Glover) Ammerman.

On July 10, 1948 he was married to Eleanor Avery in Ypsilanti, MI.

Mrs. Ammerman preceded him in death on September 4, 2002

following 54 loving years of marriage.

Mr. Ammerman proudly served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army.

Prior to his retirement he had worked for General Motors for 30 years.

He loved fishing and camping with his family.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Denise (Tom) Parker,

Debbie (Al) Whitus and Stephanie Ammerman.

Cherished grandfather of Christine Armes (Randy) Bostic,

Barry Farr and Brian Farr. Adored great grandfather of Selina Bostic.

Also survived by 1 brother; Fred (Shirley) Ammerman and

Ted Ammerman and 2 sisters;

Margaret Ammerman and Alice (Everett) Collins.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Ammerman was preceded in death on November 22, 1985 by his granddaughter Tina Armes .

He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister in law Dan (Maxine) Ammerman

his sisters; Clair Ammerman & Pearl (Roger) Gilbert.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19, 2009

at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home,

209 Main St., Belleville (734) 697-9400.

Funeral service was at 7:00 p.m., Saturday with Pastor Bryan Schindel officiating.

Interment took place on Monday, September 21, 2009

at Evergreen Cemetery in Alpena.
