DOYLE MAXWELL CATES SR.

Passed away Monday, November 13, 2006 at Chelsea Community Hospital. He was born August 3, 1955 in Garden City, Michigan a son of Clarence Junior & Gloria Sue ( Duty ) Cates. On June 4, 1977 he was married to Cynthia Ann Reeder in Canton, Michigan moving to Belleville from Westland in 1995. Mr. Cates Enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his 1971 & “72 Dodge Demons, 340’s. He will be best remembered as a kind and caring family man who always put others before himself. Mr. Cates had been employed by Ford Motor Company as a machinist for 15 years.

Mr. Cates was the beloved husband of Cynthia A. Cates for 29 years. Dear father of Michelle ( Robert ) Hodges of Westland and Doyle ( Crystal ) Cates, Jr. of Belleville. Fond grandfather of Katelynn & Jenna. Son of Gloria ( Tino ) Lopez of Colorado. Brother of Calvin Cates & Perry Cates. One niece and 1 nephew also survive. Preceded in death by his sister Glenda Cates.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 3 – 8 P.M. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11 A.M. at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Belleville (734-697-9400).

The family has requested memorial contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2265 Livernois, Suite 410, Troy, MI 48083 in lieu of flowers.
