Teejay Thomas Fountain

July 31st 1979 To June 25th 2007

Teejay Thomas Fountain, 27 of Detroit passed away on June 25^th, 2007 at Harper Hospital in Detroit. His parents and his 2 sisters were at his bedside at his time of death.

Teejay was born on July 31, 1979 in Detroit.  He was adopted by the Fountain family at the age of 4 months.  He was a 1997 graduate of Belleville High School.  He continued his education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, earning an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts on August 15^th, 2003.

He worked as a Sou Chef at four star restaurants in New York, Ann Arbor, MI and the Detroit area.  Teejay enjoyed cooking, fishing, kayaking, playing chess and reading.

Teejay is survived by his parents, Thomas and Tela Fountain of Belleville, two sisters; Tivoli Fountain of Royal Oak and Treesa Fountain of Belleville and his brother, Trevor Fountain of Glendale Heights, IL. Cremation Rites have been accorded.  A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 7^th, beginning at 4 p.m. with a memorial service at 5 p.m. at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home, 209 Main Street.
