Carolyn Johanson

Carolyn Johanson, 71, of Belleville, passed away on October 8, 2006.

She was born on August 14, 1935 in Frankfort, Michigan, a daughter of Gordon & Edna (Dewitt) Blodgett.  On September 20, 1998 she was married to Helge Johanson in Romulus, Michigan. 

Carolyn has been a resident of Belleville for over 30 years.  She is a member of The Lord’s House Missionary Baptist Church and was previously  a member of the Romulus Weslyan Church where she taught Sunday school for over 13 years.  She was everybody’s “Grandma Carol” and was a loving guardian angel to everyone.

Mrs. Johanson is survived by her loving husband, Helge, her mother Edna, her children Jerome (Lenora) Perry of Taylor, MI.,

Dale Perry of Florida, Jeffrey (Linda) Perry of Milan, MI.,

Susan (Randy) Fort of California, Bradley (Sharon) Wood of Manchester,MI. and Robert (Jennifer) Wood of Westland, MI.

Cherished grandmother of James Perry, Deborah (Rodney) Leigh, Christian Wood, Nathan Wood and Tyler Wood and great grandmother of Katelyn Leigh, Jorden Leigh, Zachary Leigh and Jacob Leigh. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon, her son James and her sister Pat.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial Contributions in Carolyn’s name may be made to Hospice of Michigan, 2090 S. Main St., Ann Arbor, MI  48103.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home in Belleville.
