Raymond James Vail

Mr. Raymond J. Vail passed away April 12, 2010

at Odyssey House in Southfield, Michigan.

He was born June 1, 1926 at Englewood, CO

a son of James Phillip and

Laura Abigail ( Rockwood ) Vail.

In 1959 he was married to Madeline Erickson at

Vatican City, Rome, moving to California

and retiring to Florida.

Mrs. Vail preceded him in death on February 2, 1992.

Mr. Vail proudly serviced his country with the

U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force spending

part of his tour at Area 51.

Mr. Vail enjoyed reading and gardening.

He had great interests in history and science.

Mr. Vail also had a passion for painting.

Prior to his retirement on October 1, 1983

he had been employed by

Lockheed Missiles & Space Co.

as a missile inspector from April 26, 1961.

Mr. Vail is survived by his sister

Leone Florence Smith of Belleville.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews

and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2 P.M.

until the time of the memorial service at 5 P.M.

at the Higgerson & Neal Funeral Home,

209 Main St., Belleville, MI
