Donald Clayton Walters

Passed away Sunday, October 22, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born MaY 27, 1937 in Ypsilanti, Michigan a son of Clayton and Mary ( Agge ) Walters.  On September 11, 1965 he was married to Elsie Jane Pegouskie in Belleville, Michigan.  Mr. Walters was a lifetime resident of Belleville.  Mr. Walters was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.  He  enjoyed a good practical joke, morning coffee at the local coffee shop and the occasional morning breakfast with his friends.  He was a former member of the Belleville City Council and Police Commissioner.  His true passion however, was his wife, children and grandchildren.

Mr. Walters was the beloved husband of Elsie Walters for 41 years.  Dear father of Mary Anne ( Dr. Michael ) Chames of Grass Lake, Marilyn ( Dan ) O’Niell of Brighton, Carolyn ( James ) Kosiba of Belleville and Donald ( Christina Certo ) Walters, Jr., of Belleville.  Fond grandfather of 11 grandchidren.  Brother of M.J. Walters of Belleville, Ritchie Millard and Robert Millard both of Missouri.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26,2006 at 11:00 A.M. at. St. Anthony Catholic Church, 409 W. Columbia, Belleville.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church.  Memorial conbtributions in Mr. Walters’ name have been requested to the American Diabetes Assoc., American Heart Assoc., or the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.
